Your Veterinarians in Oxford

Dr. McQueen

Dr. Lachlan McQueen is originally from Melbourne, Australia. He moved to the USA to pursue a small animal rotating internship at Mississippi State Veterinary College. After which he made his way to Oxford, with his wife (Dr. Kelsey Hanson), where they owned and operated a veterinary hospital for several years. Dr McQueen has since earned his accreditation with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners as both a Canine and Feline Specialist. He has specific interests in the fields of internal medicine, gastroenterology (and is a member of the Comparative Gastroenterology Society), nephrology, and minimally invasive procedures (ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, etc.). Dr. McQueen also has a passion for teaching and mentoring current and future veterinary students, recently earning adjunct professor status with Mississippi State Veterinary College through his continued work with their clinical teaching program.

Dr. Hanson

Dr. Hanson brings a decade of veterinary expertise to McQueen Veterinary Hospital, including three years of successful practice ownership. Originally from New Orleans and a resident of Oxford since 2018, Dr. Hanson has a special interest in surgery with a particular enthusiasm for spay and neuter through the Tubb Project. Dr. Hanson’s evolving passion for the business side of veterinary medicine led her to become the Hospital Director at McQueen Veterinary Hospital. She is dedicated to creating a unique experience for Oxford pets and their families, offering distinguished care for your distinguished companions. Outside of work, Dr. Hanson enjoys exploring the landscapes of Scotland.
